Maritimo mega cruiser enjoys strong sales

Luxury cruiser manufacturer Maritimo has struck a winner with its all new Maritimo M65 cruising motor yacht with five vessels sold even before the moulds were completed.

The M65 was officially launched over the weekend at a glittering event at Sanctuary Cove Resort on the Gold Coast and it will have its public debut at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May next year.

The first M65 is being delivered to its Gold Coast owner this week.

Big boat enthusiasts have embraced the M65 and the company expects more orders now that prospective buyers can see the finished product. There was strong interest in it at the Sydney International Boat Show and international shows in Cannes, Genoa and Fort Lauderdale during the year.

“This is a serious motoryacht and the interest we have had in this new model has been tremendous,” according to Maritimo sales and marketing manager Greg Haines.

“The five we have sold are going to Adelaide, Sydney, the Gold Coast and Brisbane owners and we feel confident that now prospective buyers can actually see the finished product there will be a wave of further sales.

“This is a go anywhere motoryacht which can accommodate a family in style, safety and comfort for some genuine blue water passage making.”

Mr Haines said the power options ranged from twin 900 horsepower Volvo motors through to four 725 horsepower Volvo motors and various options in between. It is the only boat in the Maritimo range that can be powered by four engines.

He said of the five that have been sold the engine options have included Cat, Scania and MAN diesels.

“The vessels we have started building will be set up primarily for both cruising and fishing pursuits and all have been ordered with SeaKeepergyro stabilizers. The base price for these boats is $2.865 million and then they are optioned up form there.”

Mr Haines said with Maritimo’s super efficient shaft drive and hull design technology the company is able to deliver even better fuel consumption figures than its competitors using pod-drives across the full range of Maritimo models and it says the M65 will be no exception.

Maritimo has estimated that with fuel capacity of 6300 litres it will have a range of 450 nautical miles at a speed of 21-22 knots.

“This gives it some serious cruising capacity,” said Mr Haines.

The M65 motor yacht will have four main cabins including a full beam master and full beam ensuite.

The VIP cabin is the same size as the master cabin on the previously released M60. A crew cabin is optional.

Catering is a breeze with a massive galley with the option of side by side domestic sized refrigerators. Miele appliances are standard.

Room to relax and kick back is no problem with the saloon lounge being three metres long.

Mr Haines said the flybridge was larger than the saloons on most boats and there were options for convertible berths, relocatable tables and a wet bar.

“I can see owners relaxing on the aft balcony, over looking others playing in the water with all the amenities of the saloon at hand,” he said.

“The flybridge on this vessel is really like the second storey of an apartment, it is massive and can be used for additional sleeping quarters or entertaining.

“Some our buyers like the idea of having a separate area for their teenage children to have there own space.”

He said the M65 had the popular Euro style transom and it could be optioned to Maritimo’s traditional Island transom or a fishing version.
