A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR – CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF BOAT GOLD COAST
In all my years of boating on the Gold Coast, I’ve enjoyed magic Broadwater hideaway spots like Jumpinpin, The Bedrooms, Tipplers and Jacob’s Well. I’ve also had cracking family days offshore, tracking the whale migration or chasing pelagics at the 36ers, due east from the coast.
Whether it is recreational boating or people carving out a profession in the marine industry, getting on the water creates memories like no other. Boating is a way of life for more than 30,000 Gold Coasters and one thing I’ve learned about this hobby is that it pays to be well connected.
That’s where Boat Gold Coast has been a mainstay of the industry, and boating community, for the past decade.
I recall when Andy and Roselle launched the first issue of Boat Gold Coast magazine in 2015, their focus was on creating strong partnerships with readers, suppliers, sponsors and professionals. A decade on, it’s obvious they have achieved that with Boat Gold Coast, now a ‘bible’ for thousands of marine enthusiasts.
As a former business owner, I know the hard work needed to forge a successful enterprise. The Boat Gold Coast team has laid it on the line with passion and commitment over the past decade. They are a true Gold Coast business success story.
As a City, we champion the marine industry with business support, career expos and promotion. Our city has the largest concentration of marine trades in the country, specialising in the manufacture, maintenance and retrofitting of marine craft for the Australian and international markets.
Through a partnership approach, Boat Gold Coast has played an integral role in promoting the latest products, excursions, ideas and opportunities for enthusiasts not only locally but internationally. Fishing and outdoor guru Paul Burt even pops up with a guest column on what’s biting – and what’s not.
On behalf of everyone who enjoys the outdoor lifestyle and getting on the water, let’s set sail for another decade of success and congratulations to the team at Boat Gold Coast.
