Brisbane to Gladstone – Gladstone Marina to welcome iconic race competitors

The iconic Gladstone Ports Corporation Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race is in for another exciting contest over the Easter break with the Gladstone community welcoming competitors across the finish line while hosting a range of fun festivities from Thursday 14 April.

Gladstone Marina in particular is gearing up for a spectacular Easter surrounded by a number of exciting events within the Marina Parklands and along East Shores, as well as helping the racing competitors refresh and relax after the long race.

Gladstone Marina Superintendent David Osmond said they were honoured again this year to be playing a major role in such a historically important sporting event.

“Each year, we are always excited to welcome the race competitors, but also the many locals and visitors to watch the race from the best seats in the port city – our Gladstone Marina or East Shores Parklands,” David said.

“This is such an iconic annual event on the yachting calendar and with the Marina situated at the finish line, we can see the excitement first-hand. This great destination swells at Easter and it’s always wonderful to help visitors explore the region, whether that’s the Southern Great Barrier Reef, our inshore anchorages or some fantastic land-based adventures,” he said.

During 2021, Gladstone Marina invested in a number of upgrades and new facilities to help customers refresh and relax including a luxury marina lounge and new bathroom and laundry facilities.

“The Marina has seen a significant transformation and our customers are thrilled with the relaxing marina lounge and facilities with high-end fixtures and fittings to freshen up in.

“As a result of the upgrades, we saw a huge increase in visitation last year and we’re expecting an even busier cruising season this year.”
