IFBSO is looking forward to its congress on Australia’s Gold Coast

The International Federation of Boat Show Organisers, IFBSO, was founded in 1964 to help the development of boat shows and marine trade exhibitions worldwide. Today IFBSO represents and works with and on behalf of many of the world’s leading boat shows whilst, at the same time, helping to establish new member shows via its unique candidate member mentoring scheme. The Federation’s 36 boat show members set the industry standard as a result of their compliance with the IFBSO code of excellence, a commitment which forms part of the joining conditions of the organisation.

IFBSO works closely together with ICOMIA, the International Council of Marine Industry Associations, which was formed in 1966 by members of IFBSO. Accordingly, there are number of joint members but the majority of IFBSO member shows are run by independent, commercial organisers.

The annual joint ICOMIA/IFBSO congress is an opportunity for all delegates to attend workshops and seminars but, equally importantly, to network with industry colleagues and exchange knowhow and news.

This year’s congress is taking place on Australia’s beautiful Gold Coast to coincide with ASMEX (Australian Superyacht & Marine Export Conference) and SCIBS (Sanctuary Coast Boat Show) who are an IFBSO member as is the Sydney International Boat Show.

The annual congress represents a highlight on the IFBSO calendar and our members very much look forward to its iconic setting and learning more about the Australian Superyacht, Marine Export and Commercial and Marine Leisure Industry.
