Premium Boat Services At Gold Coast City Marina

HARBOURFORCE

No matter how big or small, old or new the vessel is, most boat owners desire to maintain the fresh-from-showroom look. Boat maintenance on a regular basis is a sure way to ensure the longevity of your vessel and maintain its pristine condition. Harbourforce Marine has been established for 15 years, and can ensure your vessel is always presenting in A1 condition, with an array of exterior and interior detailing services available. Boat maintenance can be a tricky and time-consuming task, and is sometimes better left to a qualified boat maintenance worker who is educated in products and in correct application processes.

ANTIFOUL

Antifoul is a critical component for most vessels. Having and maintaining a premium antifoul system will reduce the potential for slime, weed and barnacle growth on the hull of your boat. Antifouling is not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ product, it is customised to the individual vessel. To ensure the best antifoul system is put on your vessel, it is crucial at Harbourforce that we understand how often the vessel is used, the water conditions your boat lives in (tropical or cold waters), use of the boat (speed or sailing), and the boat owner’s desired longevity of the antifoul system (12-24 months).

Through consulting with antifoul experts from our providers, International Yacht Paints and Jotun, in conjunction with our experienced antifouling team, the right antifoul system will be recommended to you. We recommend to our clients their antifoul system be redone every 12-18 months, with the additional option for our clients to use our underwater diver service throughout this period to reduce growth on their vessel’s hull.

DETAILING

As boat maintenance specialists, Harbourforce offers a range of interior and exterior services to maintain the condition of your vessel, such as machine cut and polishing, scheduled washdowns, carpet cleaning, mould removal, stainless polishing, teak rejuvenation, and gelcoat repairs.

One of the foremost aspects of boat maintenance is the protection of, and proper care for, a vessel’s gelcoat – the ‘outer-skin’ of your vessel. Cracks and worn out or scratched gelcoat, are a consequence of not taking care of the gelcoat, potentially leading to moisture infiltration in the underlying fibreglass, resulting in serious and costly damage.

Educating boat owners in protective gelcoat measures is crucial at Harbourforce, so here are our top 5 tips:

  1. Use marine-grade products only.
  2. Thoroughly machine-compound the vessel before wax application.
  3. Use marine-grade wax (acts as sunscreen against harsh conditions).
  4. Have a consistent waxing regime – reapplying every 4-6 months.
  5. Regularly wash-down the vessel.
