GOLD COAST CITY MARINA & SHIPYARD

THE REFIT DESTINATION ON THE GOLDIE FOR OUR LOCAL BOATIES

Taking care of your precious vessel – from jet skis to superyachts

That’s GCCM’s motto, and they do deliver. Proud of their recent 2022 ACREW Award for best International Superyacht Refit Yard, the Coomera marina is also proud to service the local boating community.

KEEP YOUR VESSEL SAFE AND EASILY ACCESSIBLE IN DRY STORAGE

Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard offers a state-of-the-art secure storage facility for up to 250 boats, to a length of 11 metres or 14 tonne in weight. Completely undercover, it’s one of the most modern facilities in the southern hemisphere and includes the world’s latest development in marine forklifts that quickly and safely lift the vessels in and out of the water. For those of you with larger vessels, including boats with flybridges, external dry storage racks are also available for boats of up to 37ft in a safe and secure area.

All you need to do is bring the picnic lunch (or order lunch to go from the award-winning onsite restaurant Quarterdeck Kitchen), step aboard, cast off and if you need fuel there are diesel and unleaded fuel bowsers on the way out of the marina.

There’s even a customer lounge with restroom facilities and when you return you just tie the boat up to the pontoon and the marina crew will do the rest. This fantastic service allows you to enjoy a lot more boating and a lot less hassle. The crew at Dry Store is at your disposal to splash your boat or your jet ski any day between 8am and 4pm (5pm in the weekends).

“We love having this flexibility to get in the water without stressing about towing our 28-foot sports cruiser” says Dianne from Hope Island. “We call dry store an hour before and she’s ready when we get to Coomera. We used to have her in our backyard, but she’s better protected from the Queensland weather there, and we get to spend more time on the water.”

90 WORLD-CLASS ONSITE MARINE TRADES RIGHT AT YOUR TRANSOM DOOR

For their annual maintenance or refit needs, local boat owners can rely on 90 leading onsite marine experts working together in the marina. Every conceivable marine trade and service can be found in one convenient location: from a very experienced chandlery to antifouling specialists, cabinetry to teak decking artists or electrical and hydraulics experts. We are the “Westfield” of boating, says Kevin, Operations Manager at GCCM.

The Big Lift can haul out up to 300 tonnes, wide boats such as catamarans up to 10 metres wide and even commercial ferries, barges or fishing trawlers.

“Each day brings very different boats and the variety of vessels we service is amazing” says Nick, Dockmaster at GCCM. “Today we splashed MY Bad Company, an amazing game fishing boat getting ready for their black marlin season in Cairns. Last week, we took care of not-so-little MY Little Audrey, an 82-foot Viking, the biggest game fishing boat in Australia”.

GOLD COAST SAILING BOATS HEAVEN

James and Fiona own one of two 42-foot Leopard catamarans in Australia. They are very grateful for the help they received at the marina. “We appreciate the friendliness of the crew. Everyone from the admin team to the yard crew made it so easy for us. We had never lifted our boat before, and they helped us all the way” says James. “We used 7 of the marine trades at GCCM and they all coordinated their work seamlessly”. “We also appreciated the complimentary cars and the fact everything is close to the marina” added Fiona.

The marina caters for many sailing boats, offering the use of a keel pit to work under the waterline and a choice of renowned sail lofts and rigging experts.

Local commercial boats are regulars too and know they can count on the reactivity of the shipyard when they need an urgent haul out, like MY Kaiala from Sea World who needed a quick fix before going back to their wonderful whale cruises or Cove Cruises cute Kilkie, a beloved heritage vessel that has been in Sanctuary Cove for almost 32 years!

“We have used GCCM for the last 7 years”, says Margrit Warbutt from Cove Cruises, “and they always make us feel welcome.”

So, here you go, all you need for your boat can be found right here on the Coomera River. Happy Sailing!
