Rod Twitchin Marine (RTM) has started 2023 similarly to the way we ended 2022, VERY BUSY! RTM’s suite of Professional Services has been well received by many boat owners with varied engagements as follows:
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
RTM has five projects currently in our care, ranging from minor repairs and maintenance to quite extensive refit works, with three vessels having works conducted as they are entering into AMSA Commercial Certification. Many past and current clients are based interstate and welcome our professional approach to their projects as we have their best interest in mind with timelines and budgets.
CONSULTING & DIAGNOSTICS
This service has proven to be very positive for our local and international clients, providing savings of time and money. RTM’s procedure is to visit the vessel to conduct a preliminary inspection and diagnostics, with the view of offering a remedy of required repairs. RTM can then also assist with arranging the repairs and overseeing or putting our clients in touch with a preferred repairer.
INSURANCE CONDITION SURVEYS
Being based onsite at the Boat Works, RTM is the convenient choice for many boat owners who require an “out of water” Insurance Condition Appraisal. Our reporting style has been well received by all insurers for the past 11 years. Given our onsite relationships with varied repairers, we can also offer our clients a preferred repairer to conduct any possible remedies to defects identified at the time of the inspection, while its on the hardstand and prior to going back to water.
PRE-PURCHASE CONDITION SURVEYS
Boat sales still appear to be constant, and RTM have travelled locally and interstate this year to assist with many Pre-Purchase Surveys. Our clients have been from all over the globe ranging from local to Victoria, NSW, California, Indonesia, and Italy. Our inspections have covered all types of vessels from smaller boats to larger superyachts, and we approach every survey with the same enthusiasm and professionalism.
CONDITION & VALUATION SURVEYS
There has been a steady stream of requests this year for Condition & Valuation Appraisals for various reasons including importation of vessels into Australia reflecting Australian Customs, Insurance & Finance purposes and Legal matters. RTM is certified as Vessel Valuers and has assisted many clients over the years.

RTM will be travelling to FLIBS in late October 2023 and reaching out to our international colleagues.
