ISLAND GYPSY BOATS – a new generation of motor yachts

Following the success of last years Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) Island Gypsy boats plans an even better display

What an amazing year we have had welcoming so many new clients to the Island Gypsy Family!

Island Gypsy boats have a pedigree steeped in history and innovation carrying on from the early days of the Halvorsen family. The latest incarnation of the iconic trawler-style motor yacht has wowed the Australian market. While the moulds and materials used are the latest technology, we are proud that we have many of the original staff and builders committed to building the most coveted and regarded brand of boat that continues to grace the waterways around the world to this day.

From the original Island Gypsy 460 launched in 2019, we have grown the range to include the 400 twin cabin, proven to be the “right fit” with families as well as the baby boomer market seeking a well-priced, economical coastal cruiser that ticks all the boxes for economy, comfort and combined with a luxe fit out of beautiful gloss-finished timbers, comfy couch finishes and Corian-topped spacious main deck galley with storage to rival many larger boats. Accommodation includes a queen bed stateroom, twin-cabin guest cabin and spacious bathroom boasting a separate shower room.

To date, we have sold and delivered 12 Island Gypsy 400 models, with a further 6 sold and under construction, as well as a further 6 ordered for future clients to reduce the delay in the order/delivery time frame.

We are excited to add 2 additional models to the family. The Island Gypsy 460 seemed the right size for a young family. However, due to an unexpected addition of twins, a client asked us to upsize the boat to include 3 cabins and 2 bathrooms. Our chief designer Brett Flanagan has reimagined the IG460 and we now have an IG500 in build to satisfy the growing needs of this experienced boating family. We are so confident of the success of the IG500 that we have pre-ordered a second boat for stock.

One of our early IG460 clients has enjoyed the past few years cruising the east coast with his wife and extended family. Having handed on the family business, they have decided they want to stretch their legs and do some quality bluewater cruising. Having owned many boats, the client knows what is the right fit, and Island Gypsy 650 is the right fit. Again, chief designer Brett Flanagan, along with our in-house Island Gypsy naval architect, has come up with the ultimate long-range cruiser. Boasting a full-beam master stateroom with ensuite bathroom, as well as a VIP forward and twin cabin with private bathroom and utility room with washer/dryer and additional freezer allowing for complete independence.

The main deck is vast, with no steps, from the helm to the aft deck the flow is seamless with 3 separate entertaining spaces allowing for a cosy space for a couple or entertaining the family and friends. Featuring twin-diesel shaft drive engines, (or a single) twin gyro stabilisers, water maker and a huge 3000 L fuel capacity, this ultimate, true bluewater cruiser promises to impress the most discerning boatie.

The crew at Boats International look forward to meeting you at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2022. We can’t wait to showcase the latest boats from Island Gypsy Boats. Find us on pier “F” at SCIBS or visit us at our floating office and on water display at pier “H“ Gold Coast City Marina.
