Latest News From AUSTRALIA’S GREATEST BOATYARD

The Boat Works aims to be the country’s cleanest, greenest and most comprehensive marine facility.

We undertake investment in, and implementation of, innovative technology and stringent processes to protect the land, air and water. At the same time, we offer quality in the choice of marine trade and services while teaming all of this with good old fashioned service and resort-style facilities and amenities.

SHED EXPANSION

Consistent with the commitment to constructing an eco-friendly marina and boatyard, the marine facility is poised to welcome even larger capacity sheds.

20-metre high purpose-built super sheds are under construction and will accommodate refinishing works for vessels 50 metres in length, scheduled for completion in first quarter 2022.

“It’s a case of supply and demand,” explains Shane Subichin, General Manager.

“We need more sheds to accommodate the influx. The exponential demand we are experiencing in the marine sector represents an excellent opportunity for employment and a demand for skilled trades.”

This statement underscores where our marine industry is heading.

NEW TRADES & SERVICES

In early 2021, The Boat Works opened purpose-built workshops, creating additional service hubs for further marine professionals. This was the final opportunity for marine businesses to secure tenancies in the two yards located in the Gold Coast Marine Precinct.

Marine businesses such as the team at Superyacht Solutions, who offer high calibre painting and refinishing services, have recently taken advantage of the new facilities at The Boat Works.

In addition we have also welcomed Onboard Electrical, the trusted marine electrical company who recently secured the Furuno Install Dealer of the Year ’21, and their team of qualified marine electricians and technicians.

If you’re looking for quality marineware or a range of unbreakable table & glassware, Ultra Marine Products now feature a new showroom in the north yard. Ultra Marine are retailers of quality marine products from around the world. In addition they are the distributor for Ultra Anchors, Ultra Fenders, Sovaro Coolers, Marine Furniture, Frigibar, Maddox Anodes, and Navigator Helm Seats. Be sure to visit the new showroom and inspect the latest range on offer.

MARINE CHANDLERY

In addition to this rapid evolution since the Superyacht yard began to attract larger boats, more vessels and more people to the area, the Marine Trade Supplies & Chandlery have also expanded their store yet again. The on-site megastore is open to the public and covers every aspect of boat repairs, maintenance and supplies.

Evolving from a modest trade store into the leading chandlery in South-East Queensland, it is bursting with international and Australian brands and a product range that is second to none.

On average, 300 people a day visit the store, from tradies and marine professionals to DIY boat owners – all of them amazed at the breadth and extent of the products on shelf.

Products range from boating accessories and deck hardware, paint, fibreglass, resin, plywood sheeting and thermo-lite board, to a full selection of marine safety equipment, all detailing supplies, antifoul, anchors, plumbing, electrical, LED lighting and Australian-made specialist ropes and so much more.
