RYCK 280 – VERSATILE DAY BOAT LUXURY

The RYCK comes with the tagline of `Instantly Thrilling’, and it is a promise on point. The reverse bow and stepped hull result in an exceptionally smooth, dry ride in the often changeable and challenging conditions experienced along the Australian coastline and on choppy inland waterways.

The RYCK range is produced by Hanse AG Group who have the experience of developing some 25 power boats over 15 years. The German boat brand is more than cool and a welcome addition to the market, as it combines style, speed, and safety making it a great powerboat to use for functional or flashy purposes.

Their Ryck 280 model is developed in cooperation with renowned UK yacht designer Bill Dixon. This unique design will perfectly adapt to a wide variety of uses: family entertainer, fast tender, adventure sports or as a premium fishing platform. This model is the ultimate all-rounder for just about any activity on the water. Recently, it won the 2021 `Elegance’ category at les Moteur Boat De L`annee and has been nominated for the 2022 European Powerboat of the Year.

The Ryck is now in Australia, and the local distributor, Windcraft, has a long-term plan with this model as it is most suitable to the Gold Coast boat enthusiast. Licenced to carry 8 people, the Ryck 280 Australian edition specs are a great list of features that really stand out from the rest.

The Ryck 280 is fitted with RYCK Safety Cloud, which provides boat monitoring, support, and alerts to mobile app. The strong fibreglass hull is powered by a single Mercury Verado 350hp and fitted with Mercury Vessel View 502 engine display. This boat is capable of pushing the rugged lightweight design out on the water, and the performance is exhilarating with a top speed of more than 40 knots. A fuel tank capacity of 300 litres means you can cruise all day.

A full wrap-around clear windscreen protects from the wind and incorporates a wiper for wet weather. Two comfortable helm chairs offer excellent sightlines underway. Wide side decks connect to the bow seating area that also doubles as a sun pad. Sunshades stretch over both areas for drying-off after a swim. An electric windlass makes anchoring easy.

The Ryck 280 seamlessly switches into entertaining mode. Relax on the spacious L-shaped lounge in the cockpit around the height-adjustable table that converts to a big sun pad. A few steps away is a wet bar with sink and BBQ. There is plenty of storage area under the cockpit and a fridge is installed on the port side. A walk-through transom makes access to the water a breeze. The cockpit has a Fusion Apollo stereo with two speakers and there are LED illumination and navigation lights installed.

Moving to the spacious cabin – easily accessed from helm – it comes with a king-size berth and includes a large wardrobe with plenty of additional storage. A separate bathroom with a fully-equipped head and vanity provides all the amenities required for an overnight or weekend getaway to a secluded beach or anchorage.

The hull has two skylights on either side and an openable hatch. All wet areas on the boat have anti-slip surface, isophthalic gelcoat. There is also an 88-litre freshwater system with an electric pump.

The Ryck 280’s dimensions of length overall of 9.51 metres or just over 31 feet, a 2.81 metre beam, and a draft of 0.52 metres mean it can be easily moored off a small private jetty or stored on a hard stand and is trailerable, if required. RYCK combines all the versatility of a RIB with high-quality appointments usually found on centre-console luxury tenders. A selection of colours, interiors, and options caters for the most eagle-eyed boat owner.

Windcraft Yachts, the exclusive importer of RYCK in Australia and New Zealand, has a demonstrator ready for trial. Pricing starts from $250,000 including T-top and engine, with a raft of optional extras to customise a boat to your specific needs.
