Located within a superyacht shed at Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard, Sirocco Marine Queensland is packed to the gunwales with RIBS from 2.2 to 12 metres, including the full range of Zodiac inflatable boats, Northstar, Sirocco brand, Williams Jet Tenders and BRIG.
The 900-square-metre ground floor of the showroom presents the larger models, including the all-new Zodiac Medline 9, while the mezzanine level showcases the smaller vessels.
Since October last year, Ryan Slater, Director of Sirocco Marine Queensland, has received nine containers of the latest model Zodiac boats, from 4.2 to 9 metres, and he has already equipped dozens of Queensland customers, from as far as Cairns and the Whitsundays, with new Zodiac RIBS and engines, as well as tenders for Horizon, Riviera and Maritimo motor yachts.
“We have close to 300 RIBS in the showroom – a RIB for every use and every budget. It’s great to welcome new customers to the Zodiac brand, as well as many existing Zodiac owners who are now upgrading to larger models or buying options for their existing boats to make them more versatile.
Our repeat Zodiac customers are happy they now have a dedicated national distributor in Sirocco Marine, with all the after sales support and service we provide,” said Ryan.
Sirocco Marine supply and fit engines by Honda, Yamaha and Mercury and have close connections to their service technicians.
A Naval Draftsman and Marine Diesel Mechanic by trade, Ryan’s background includes a two-year stint with Liam O’Halloran at Sirocco Marine South and several years aboard superyachts as an Engineer. He also lived and worked in Germany employed by Volvo.
Sirocco Marine is the sole distributor of Zodiac boats in Australia. All Zodiac models imported into Australia will have tubes made of Hypalon, chosen for its resistance to UV, chemicals and temperature extremes and its air tightness. Ryan explains, “Zodiac is the pioneer of the rigid inflatable boat and the biggest manufacturer in the world. They invest heavily in R&D and innovation. There are some exciting developments coming out this year.”
Fitting neatly between Sirocco and BRIG RIBS, the Zodiac RIBS will appeal to owners seeking a sturdy, reliable, stable RIB tender, or a stand-alone day boat for diving, fishing and safe family boating.
“We carry Zodiac tenders and bigger boats from 4 metres to the Medline 9-metre model which has a cockpit kitchen and centre console with cabin and toilet – popular with families and adventurous owners wanting to stay out on the water longer. We are looking forward to this year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show where we will have 20 different Zodiac models on display, from four to nine metres, including the Australian launch of the all-new Medline 9, an 8-metre Northstar Orion 8 performance RIB, three of the latest model Williams Jet Tenders, two BRIG Eagle 8s and several RIBS from the Sirocco range – both aluminium and fibreglass hulled,” Ryan announces.
