A to Z of Marine Professionals

On the back of a bumper year in which we have lifted more than 2,000 boats out of the water, The Boat Works Gold Coast have increased their lifting capacity and their occupancy, raising industry standards in what has evolved to become a comprehensive, world-class shipyard facility. 2020 is a milestone year for The Boat Works. Gold Coast Mayor, Tom Tate cut the ribbon on the new, state-of-the-art Superyacht yard and Gold Coast largest boat lift at 300 tonnes was launched in Feb.

Now incorporating two yards, multiple haul-out options, dedicated boat sales showrooms, and expanding their in water services berths, additional hardstand space and long term storage options, along with controlled working environments within an enormous quantity of over 40 individual sheds. Most importantly, The Boat Works is home to the most diverse range of skilled and marine professionals in the country.

The point of difference comes down to an abundance of choice, teamed with impeccable service for boat owners, captains and crew.

The business model is unique in that it is an open yard so that captains and owners can choose to work with their preferred contractors, with full access to all marine businesses and services in the precinct.

With decades of experience in the boat refit and maintenance industry among them, the various businesses on-site comprise the A to Z of marine professionals, from fabrication, engineering and electrical specialists through to upholstery, joinery, painting and full project management.

For crew of visiting yachts, ‘yard time’ can be used productively with direct access to training courses onsite via the leading maritime training organisation, Paradigm Training Group. Captains and crew can earn accredited maritime qualifications, with an array of courses suited to all vessels.

Recreational boat license, jet ski, and first aid training courses are also available onsite.

Rising demand has driven the development of an additional services hub, Stage 3, which is nearing completion, delivering extra capabilities to meet customer needs across an increased variety of vessels. This new $30 million investment will welcome a suite of qualified marine trade professionals, workshops and services including retail showrooms along with extra high bay sheds.

Our plan for the future is clear: continually raising the standard and exceeding customer expectations. None of this could have been achieved without the support and enthusiasm of our loyal customers, brilliant tenants, staff, suppliers and contractors to whom we dedicate our hard work.
