MAKO 214CC

FISHING AND FAMILY FUN

Over the span of more than half a century, Mako boats have evolved from the simple idea of a durable, highly fishable centre console to a fleet of fishing boats that cover every inshore and offshore need.

Designed by the anglers who use them, these boats reflect the experience and feedback of thousands of Mako customers, resulting in boats that make inshore and offshore fishing more efficient and intuitive — and make time spent on the water more memorable.

Mako employs the same Lean Sigma manufacturing techniques used by leaders in the aerospace, medical and automotive industries. This results in a fleet of boats that are recognised for being top quality and built to last.

It is because of all these things that they are able to offer MAKO Assurance. The hull is guaranteed for life. The rest of the boat is guaranteed for 5 years and the gel coat for 3 years — the best factory warranty in saltwater boats.

DESIGN – The 214CC has a high protecting bow and a deep cockpit to keep those onboard safe. The legendary high-freeboard chop-taming hulls are built with a variable deadrise design that transitions from a sharp, wave-cutting bow to a flatter, stable stern. The result is higher speeds, more fuel efficiency, and better handling while cruising, but also minimises swat  ting at slower speeds and at rest. Wide reverse chines also contribute to a dry, comfortable ride and great stability at rest, as well as the necessary buoyancy to handle today’s high-horsepower outboards.

With a length of 6.53m and a beam of 2.59m, the Mako 214CC hull features Rapid Planing System (RPS), consisting of a midship step in the hull and a partial tunnel in the aft section of the keel. The boat has a deadrise of 18 degrees. On take off, the tunnel releases suction for a faster holeshot and a quicker step to plane. At the top end, the step in the hull improves performance and maximises speed by reducing friction with the water’s surface.

Made with 100% composite construction including a fibreglass-encapsulated transom of high-density composite closed-cell foam-injected stringer grid for level flotation, the boat comes standard with a swim platform and a stainless steel ladder.

The layout of the boat is very social. The cushioned seats have removable backrests that enclose ample storage units. At the bow, there is an anchor locker, stainless bow chocks, and five cleats around the boat. There are plenty of grab rails, two gunnel-mounted rod holders, and port and starboard undergunnel rod racks for six rods up to 2.13 m long. To further ensure your safety, there are courtesy lights and moulded non-skid surfaces throughout the boat.

CONSOLE – The helm features an anodised aluminium steering wheel w/knob, binnacle-mounted motor control/s, and the new Mercury® SmartCraft® digital gauges.

The design allows for an extra-large electronics mounting surface with easy access to helm electronics, instruments and switches. The system is fitted with manual reset circuit breakers and illuminated switches and a 12V DC outlet. You can turn up the volume on the Fusion stereo with 4 speakers and chill those drinks as there is a removable forward-console seat revealing a 68.14 L insulated drained cooler. For comfort and convenience, an integrated full-width footrest, acrylic windscreen, lockable glove box and two console drink holders are included.

PERFORMANCE – The boat is easy to drive in any conditions, proving a stable ride and excellent fuel efficiency.

The 214CC utilises the legendary dry-riding MAKO® hull with aggressive deep-V hull design featuring recessed electric trim tabs. Under the floor is 344 litres of fuel for the Mercury outboard. Fitted with the responsive and powerful Mercury 150hp and factory-matched stainless steel propeller, the boat has a top speed of 65kph and a cruising speed of 40kph. With this setup, the boat will plane in just over 5 seconds. If you have a need for more speed than that, the boat is rated for a maximum of 250hp.

Mako stands tall in the archives of offshore fishing, with a reputation that’s second-to-none in safety, reliability and fishability. For over half a century, Mako boats have been building a solid reputation for offshore durability, innovation and safety. Today, a fleet of rock-solid and technically advanced blue-water champions stand ready to make your next offshore adventure unforgettable.

From an 18- to 41-footer, there is a boat for everyone — from the casual nearshore angler to the fearless explorer who travels far out to chase the trophies that inhabit their dreams.

The 214CC is available in a range of gelcoat colours, and each boat is delivered on an easily towable tandem-axle aluminium trailer.
